USS Hornet Overnight (Paracon, 8/8/15): Engine Room, Part 2

These are 2nd generation audio clips recorded in the Engine Room.

Clip 1: Laura J is tagging the location. At the 4 second mark, a male disembodied voice says, “Focus.”

Clip 2: At the beginning of this clip, someone notes that a flashlight just turned on. I then ask the spirits to say one of our names. After my question, I can hear a female voice in the background but can’t make out what is being said. I’ve amplified this part of the clip.

Clip 3: Someone asks, “Do you mind us being down here?” A female disembodied voice replies, “Absolutely, you must.”

I take this to mean “Absolutely, IF you must BE DOWN HERE” or giving us an enthusiastic, affirmative response to our presence.

Clip 4: Someone says, “Pass” when we’re asking questions. A second later, there is an odd sound/noise that was not made by the humans.

At the time, several people thought they heard he sound of a dog. (Oftentimes, you can hear the faint bark of a dog in the Engine Room. Popular belief is that this is the spirit of Stella, a dog who once lived on board the ship with a volunteer.)

To me, it sounds like a disembodied voice trying to say, “It was up.” It also sounds like the bark-whine of a dog or other animal.
