The Chapel on Mare Island is the oldest naval chapel in the country. It was built in 1901. If you have a chance, visit it to see the beautiful stained glass windows. Most of them were done by Tiffany and Company.
These clips were recorded in the Chapel on 5/28/16.
Clip 1: In this clip, Lou, our incredible Tour Guide, was talking about the value of the stained glass windows. You’ll hear him take a breath in before he starts speaking. Right after he says, “The actual appraisal on the individual windows, I don’t know. But probably between…” He takes a pause before giving his estimate. In the pause, a male disembodied voice says what sounds like, “Five hundred.”
Clip 2: Right after Lou mentions the Seapoy Mutiny, a disembodied voice says what sounds like “naval personnel” or “same person out.”
